Every yoga wear brand eventually meets the same fork: buy in-stock styles that already exist, or commission made-to-order production of their own. The two modes build two very different businesses - and the brands that grow fastest usually use both, in the right order. Here is what each mode actually offers, without the sales gloss.
At Miss K the fork is explicit. Our SS2026 selection is a list of over 30 developed styles already in production - tanks, ALO-inspired sets, cardio leggings with pockets, sculpt tops - ready to ship. Made-to-order is everything else: your styles, your colors, your labels, produced from sampling to bulk. Both run on the same floor.
What In-Stock Actually Offers
In-stock means the styles are already developed, the patterns are proven, and the fabric program is running. What you are buying is speed and certainty: no sampling round to wait through, no tech pack to write, and a minimum that is effectively a fraction of a made-to-order MOQ because the production gamble has already been taken.
The trade-off is exclusivity. In-stock styles are available to other brands too - the fabric, the fit and the silhouette are shared. Your logo and packaging differentiate you, but the product itself is not yours alone. For flash drops, capsule tests and pop-up launches, that trade is usually worth it.
What Made-to-Order Requires - and Buys You
Made-to-order (private label on our hero styles, or full OEM/ODM) asks more up front: a sampling round, a tech pack, and an MOQ of 800-1000 pcs per color. What it buys you is brand equity. The fit, the colorways and the patterns belong to your line - competitors cannot list the same product - and the unit economics improve at volume because the production run is yours.
The differences, side by side: speed (in-stock ships in days; made-to-order samples in 5-7 days, bulk 15-25 days after approval), cash (in-stock is a fraction of the commitment), identity (made-to-order is exclusive, in-stock is shared), and depth (in-stock is fixed; made-to-order is engineered to your spec - the grading, fabric and construction choices are covered in the tech pack guide).
When to Choose Which
Choose in-stock when you are testing a market, filling a launch calendar around a made-to-order timeline, or running a fast capsule where being early matters more than being unique. It is also the honest answer to "can I start with less cash?" - the same question behind our low-MOQ launch guide.
Choose made-to-order when a style has proven itself, when your brand identity needs silhouettes nobody else carries, or when your spec requires engineering - inclusive grading, custom fabric weights, specific support levels. The MOQ planning guide walks through the cash math:
made-to-order is a bigger bet on information you already have.
The Hybrid Path Most Brands Take
The sequence that works: launch with a small in-stock capsule to put products in customers' hands this month, watch which silhouettes and colors your audience actually buys, then graduate the winners into made-to-order production with your own colorways and grading. You are using in-stock inventory as market research that pays for itself - the same sell-through logic as the restock planning guide, one step earlier in the brand's life.
Done this way, nothing is wasted: the in-stock drop funds the data, and the data de-risks the custom order.
Common Questions
Can I put my label on in-stock styles?
Yes - private label applies to the in-stock selection too: your brand label, your hangtags, your packing spec. What you cannot change is the pattern and the fabric program.
How do I get the 2026 in-stock selection list?
Message us - info@misskyoga.com or WhatsApp +86 136 4085 9182 - and we will send the full SS2026 list with styles, fabric composition, size runs and wholesale pricing.
Can in-stock styles later become exclusive?
A direction can be developed into an exclusive style through made-to-order - same silhouette family, re-engineered to your spec. The in-stock version remains available to others; your developed version does not.
Which mode has better margins?
Made-to-order at volume, usually - you are buying a production run, not picking from a shelf. In-stock margins are healthy too, but the real advantage is cash speed: you can sell this month's inventory this month.
Two Modes, One Floor
In-stock and made-to-order are not rivals; they are stages. Use in-stock to move fast and learn, use made-to-order to build what only your brand can own - and let real sell-through data make the decision for you.
